Work was much better today- still fairly long, but I decided it might be healthier for me to leave work earlier, take my laptop, take a break, and finish up my work from the comfort of home.

I got back to the house to see my two favorite chefs cooking up a storm. John whipped up baked salmon w/ panko crumbs, rice pilaf, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and bcd made some sugar peas w/ garlic (and probably butter). I tried to add some healthiness to this deal by adding a salad, but a Caesar salad isn't exactly healthy.

We finished up dinner at a decent time and headed to the Spectrum for Pinkberry and Wolverine. Good movie...and wow....Daniel Henney.....I see what the big deal is now... :)

One of the last cars in the lot again tonight.

The only perk about working loooong days is getting to see the sky at its' best. I love seeing the sky when the sun has almost disappeared. This picture doesn't do it any justice- I snapped this really quick while driving home through my dirty windshield (not very safe, I know). The sky was so many shades of pink, orange, yellow, and purple- it immediately soothed me from a long day of work.

Is it just me, or so most people/places choose the most inefficient way to run/operate??

Post #125- Happy Birthday Pig Bunny Stupid Puppyface!

Besides being Cinco de Mayo, today is also Brian's birthday- "I was holding Moracas coming out of the womb!" so he says.
Thanks to another late work day, his birthday dinner had to get pushed out til 8. I took him to 230 Forest in Laguna Beach, one of my favorite restaurants in Orange County. By that time I was starving- we had a Caesar salad, clams and mussels in a garlic butter broth, salmon w/ a corn and potato hash, and seared Ahi- delish! For dessert we got a Chocolate souffle topped with vanilla ice cream :) We thought it would be like a lava cake, but even though it came out bubbling, the cake was just warm- still good, but would have been much better if it was pipping hot.

There was no way I would be slick enough to pull off any type of surprise for three main reasons:
#1- Brian likes to ruin surprises, so he will ask 1000000 questions til he figures out what the plans are
#2- I am a horrible liar and would not be able to hide it.
#3- The majority of our friends are not known to be punctual, and if you gave them a time to show up, they would probably be there and hour later.

Instead, we just had birthday cake and a few celebratory shots.

Happy Birthday Brian!

ps. Notice that, just for the entry, because it's his birthday, I did not refer to him as "Pig" hahaha.

Post #124- One is the Loneliest Number

Oh man...my first "month end" at work...I had no idea how rough it was going to be. I was in a meeting all morning that really took away from my productivity. I crammed down some leftover lasagna for lunch and worked, and worked, and worked.

Even though it was still light out when I left the office, look how lonely poor Lexi looks. Not to mention filthy. I was intending to give her a good bath today after work, but sadly, the sun wasn't up long enough for me to do it. I had a bunch of errands to run anyways, but it was such a struggle to just get those done I was so drained.

Came home, had a glass of wine, cheered agains the Lakers, and called it a night.

Some good ol hangover Pho for lunch.

Costco to stock up on some aqua and food for the week...to come home to BK's homemade DELICIOUS spinach/mushroom lasagna. Cracked open the Cabernet we picked up from Costco, whipped up a quick salad, and Pig cooked up one of my favorite dishes of his...dijon rack of lamb. Yummm....a great dinner to end a lazy weekend.

Meet Mr. Bentley.
Later that night....after watching the Celtics/Bulls game (woOOhoo celtics!) and the 4 minute Pacquiao/Hatton fight (waste of money if you ask me)...we precelebrated Pig's birthday with some of his favorite...cognac and karaoke. Passing out around Wang = black toes or blue ears.
