Post #120 - Thirsty Thursdays with Kel!

Busy day at work today- I feel like after three weeks, I should be more comfortable/familiar with the products and programs. However, that's not the case. I feel like I am learning more and more everyday and sometimes suffer from severe information overload.

After work, we all went to Ra and luckily, I got to meet up with Kelly! Kelly lives in LA and happened to be in the OC for some work meetings, so she stuck around for a little longer to have some sushi and sake with me! Yay!

This note sums up how everyone views me hahaha. No, I don't have Swine flu- just a common cold.

Today I feel much better- work went by seamlessly today and I actually went home feeling kinda happy!

Post #118- The Perks of Being Sick

I came home to find this.....another victim of Swine Flu.

Thanks to Pig being super nice to me last night, I am feeling 10000x better. Last night he made me tea and wonton noodle soup to nurse me back to health. I went to bed at 6pm.

Today was much more bearable day- work was kind of fun and I came home and didn't feel like I was going to pass out. :)

Let's just hope Piggy survives!

Traditional lunch at Brodards followed with some retail recovery at The Rack. Tacky Ed Hardy belts. Did I mention that I cannot STAND Ed Hardy?

Dropped the girls off at the airport today :( Miss them already!!

Post #115- Fun on Melrose

I cannot believe that we all stayed up until almost 5am last night/this morning!! I was completely beat this morning, but thanks to Mel's 9am gardener, we were all awoken by the sounds of lawnmowers and leafblowers. I guess it was kind of a good thing since we were all able to wake up, shower, get ready, and have lunch by 12pm (a normal lunching time haha).

Mel took us to Savoy for some yummy asian food and after that, we went to Melrose so that the girls could shop. We saw a lot of interesting things, signs, and people...but my favorites were the Gloomy Bear hats at JapanLA and the Britney was here sign at the Vintage Tee store. :)

Shik Do Rak in Ktown for the girls' first duk bo sam dinner and degeneracy at the boys house later into the night.

I'm tired.

Post #114- One of the Longest Days

Staying up late last night definitely took a toll on me at work today. I already started feeling kinda sick, but I forced myself to suck it up since my lovelies were here.

After struggling through the day at work, I got home to meet up with Shell and Oh...we were kind of in a rush and were pressed for time, so we decided to just grab a quick salad at CPK for dinner. We put on our party faces (I've never gotten ready so quickly before!), and headed to the airport to pick up Violet and Sopheap. We headed straight up to meet up Mel, Jane, and Linda at Mel's place, let the girls who just got off the plane get ready, and met up with the boys at Dakota Lounge in Santa Monica. BK had a friend in a hip hop band that was performing that night, but since we were lagging so much, the girls missed it. Nevertheless, we still had a good time :)

Post #113- Arrival of the GFs!

Yay! Today Shelly, Christine, and Linda arrived here in OC. Linda went got picked up by Jane for some sister time, and the other girls and I rallied up the troops and went for some late night drinks at YardHouse. After a few drinks, the girls and I headed home to catch up and get some ZZzzZs.

Orchids are one of my favorite flowers. After work today, I went to South Coast to pick up something for someone's upcoming birthday, and was surprised with the Flower show going on there! I know it's Earth Day/Earth Week, but a section of the mall was seperated out with different hybrids of orchids, tulips, and other small plants. So pretty!

Post #111- Its Official

Contrary to almost everyone's belief, I do NOT work with power tools. I haven't really had the chance to write about the new job I started a few weeks ago.

I took a position as a Demand Planner with the U.S. Locks division of Black and Decker here in the OC. I'm basically responsible for the planning and forecasting of the components used to build our products. I work directly with the wholesale field sales team as well as with supply planners. It's been challenging so far learning the ins and outs of the business since its very different than working with apparel. I finally got my badge today after two weeks of a "broken camera and badge printer". I'm official.

Post #110- What's 420?

Oh. MY. God. Can it be ANY hotter?? Half of me was thankful to be stuck inside a nice air-conditioned office building. The other half of me wishes I could be playing outside in the sunshine by the pool.

Another addition to my misery was the fact that I was massively hungover from last night. My head was pounding all day and I could barely enjoy the food at my department lunch. :( After nibbling on a slice of bbq chicken pizza, I was able to gather myself and make it through the day.

This was the temperature my car was reading at 530pm when I left work. Stickiness. Yuck.

Post #109- ITS BRITNEY BITCH!

After months and months of waiting for this night....it's finally here! Britney's concert!!! yay!!

Lounged around all day in the sweltering 100 degree weather that I love. Read and took a nice nap poolside. 

We had some AWESOME seats thanks to Niko's birthday gift from Daniel. We drank Kettle in the car like "gangsters", downed some cocktails inside and had THE. best time. EVER. 

Post #108- Weekend fun!

Today was another one of those lazy Saturdays. The weather was gorgeous and we spent most of the day mosey-ing around in tudo and niko's garage while the boys played with their new toys. 

Later that night after some soondubu for dinner, we had a double date outing for drinks at our new favorite spot, Mesa. We landed ourself a table and enjoyed champagne, wine, and lychee and strawberry mojitos. Yummy! It was a non degenerate night out that felt really nice.  

Post #107- Meeting the WBF

I was right- even after a small number of drinks, I was all sorts of tired today. After the usual quad shot of espresso (hooray for free shots!), I was able to get through the day quite nicely. I met up with Niko for lunch and she brought James, the WBF....and although he was wearing a Lakers shirt, it was nice to meet him after hearing about him. Yummy burritos for lunch!

I left work a little early and got a lot of chores done...interior and exterior car wash, 2 loads of laundry, a quick brisk run, and grabbed some chinese food for dinner with the Pig. We attempted to watch The Day the Earth Stood Still (definitely not my rental choice)...and corry, pig, and I all fell asleep before the movie ended. Early night indeed. 

Post #106- The New Thirsty Thursday

Today I went out with some new co-workers for happy hour at the nearby Rudy's. The Field Sales Managers were in town so they joined us as well. They are slightly older than me, but still a ton of fun! It was the first day that it started getting warm, so we had a few Blue Moons and munchies on the patio. 

Later that night Thirtsy Thursdays continued with Niko at DnBs. We had a few drinks with her trainers (we drank, they mostly just watched), ran into some old Davis people again. Fun night, and even though we didn't drink that much, I already know tomorrow is going to be rough.

Post #103- Monday Monday

I don't remember how dreadful Monday mornings were until this morning. After degenerate nights since Thursday, I was thoroughly exhausted this morning. I really don't think my brain is used to functioning so early in the morning anymore. 

Work has been getting less stressful and things are making a lot more sense. Although I still wander around the building like a lost child at times, I think I'm starting to like it here! 

Post #102- The Ramen Tour Continues

So on the last last visit to Kaisen, Pig picked up a Japanese magazine that had a special feature on ramen restaurants in the LA and OC area. Last weekend we tried a small little place in Costa Mesa, and today we continued what Vinh has labeled the "Ramen Tour" with lunch at Kohryu. It was soooo yummy! I had the Koi special- delish! My favorite ramen place outside of Japan thus far. That was followed by some quick grocery shopping and a nice afternoon catnap. 

After drinking since Thursday, I am soooo exhausted. Definitely not looking forward to work tomorrow. 

Post #101- Saturday Fun Day!

So we went to this place in Westminster that had probably THE best pho I've had in a long time. Besides home cooked pho, this place was awesome! $4.25 for a bowl of pho- they haven't changed their prices in 15 years apparently. Awesome. Vinh represented with his t-shirt. 

Yummy sushi dinner at Kaisen...I think 6 of us finished of almost 70 plates. Delish! 

After dinner drinks w/ Niko at Mesa...fun venue, great company, lots of drinks, a retractable roof = a VERY good night. :) 

Post #100- GOOD Friday

Wow, I've never worked for a company that considered Good Friday a holiday. Luckily, Pig had the day off too! We went to get a haircut, grabbed a yummy lunch and went to Sprinkles to pick up some cupcakes for Van's birthday. Aren't they adorable?! Bunnies for Easter!

Later in the evening we went to BJ's for the so-called Late Night Happy Hour Tudo told us about. Unfortunately the happy hour occurs everyday but Fridays. Whack! But, we still managed to polish off a few pitchers and munched on some fatty food.
