Post #280- Exploring SF, Day 2

I woke up to have lunch with JK today and to meet his new puppy, Bowser. Bowser is SUCH a cutie- he is only about 3-4 months, so he is really tiny and very shy. After a few treats, he warmed up to me a bit. Makes me want a puppy EVEN more!!! After lunch, we stopped by Kara's Cupcakes (against JK's will- he is anti-cupcake...how is that possible?? ahaha). I picked up a pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting that I saved for later.

After lunch, I went to Union St. to get a facial. It's probably been a year or more since I've gotten a facial- only because I've never found anyone as good as April. After a relaxing hour and a half, I decided to cruise by the Palace of Fine Arts to snap some photos since it was a gorgeous day in SF. I took a ton of shots, practicing different features and settings on my camera. Nothing I really liked though...but practice makes perfect!

I got home and enjoyed my DELICIOUS cupcake with some coffee as an afternoon treat. Kara's are WAY better than Sprinkles!!!

Post #279- Exploring SF, Day 1

O.M.G.

In order to get another registration sticker for my car (they sent it to my REALLY old address), I had to sit in the smelly DMV office for two hours. Two hours for a process that took about 5 minutes. Afterwards, I my Dad and I had In-N-Out for lunch :)

Later in the afternoon Ali decided we should go to Bi-Rite since she wanted to get a birthday cake for her Dad and I had never tried the ice cream. I've been hearing SO much about the Salted Caramel flavor I had to try it.

Hmmm....not so much. It was good, but really sweet. Instead, I opted for Balsamic Strawberry and Honey Lavender. Yummy! We roamed around the Bi-Rite market across the street and discussed our anxiety to get out our parents' house ASAP and really "live" in SF.

Finally got to sleep in a bit today. Quite a bit actually....the past weekend didn't allow for much shut eye, so it was nice to be able to catch up today. I can only imagine how tired B must be.

SOO overwhelmed with unpacking. I have boxes, shoes, and misc bags laying around that I need to open, sort, and organize. My closet space at home is about half the size of what I had in Irvine, so it will be a struggle to find space for all of my stuff.

I went with my parents over to have dinner at my Grandma's house. I was glad to see that she was still in good spirits, and it didn't take her as long to recognize me. She is 95 years old...turning 96 in a few months! Although she's not quite as alert as she used to be, she still knows what's going on, and still has a healthy appetite.

It's only been 24 hours...or maybe even less, but it feels strange to be home. Strange to be in SF and even stranger to be living at home. I guess it will take some getting used to. As much as I said I wouldn't miss Irvine, I'm starting to already. :( Missing the ability to walk across the street to Tudo and Niko's....sigh....

Today marked my final day in Irvine.

After packing up the cars and packing the rest of B's room up...we went across the street since Niko had made breakfast for everyone. Chomped down on some breakfast fried rice, downed some coffee and decided we needed to hit the road ASAP since we lagged for quite sometime.

Chugging along the 5 in two separate cars makes for a quite ride, but it wasn't too bad. At times I caught myself in a daze, but 6.5 hours later....it felt good to be home. :)

PS. Niko- this was the first thing I put up! :)

Oh man it was rough waking up today. After two bottles of Remy and cocktails last night...we barely got up before someone rang the doorbell. We didn't really wake up early enough to set up the stuff for the garage sale, and I guess these guys were anxious to check out the merchandise.

Turns out, they didn't buy anything. However, we did manage to throw the sale together in time....slowly increasing out inventory as the day went by. Was a pretty successful sale although none of the big items sold.

After waking up at 6:30am and selling til 4pm, we took a four hour nap and went over to Tudo and Niko's for Bang's birthday feast. I've never had crawfish before....i'm still not too sure if i like it...

Remy and Hennessy were totally like our BFFs this weekend. A little bit of that put the bday OUT. Worked out though...allowed for an early bedtime tonight :)

Last day at work.

I got in late since Thirsty Thursday was a bit intense. Luckily my exit interview got pushed out, so by the time i got into work, I had just enough time to write my goodbye email and stop by to chat with my favorite co-workers before heading out.

The rest of the day was spent packing, cleaning up last nights mess, laundry, and then.....picking up B from the airport :) Niko cooked us all dinner that night and afterwards we got our party faces on for drinks at Mesa.

Mean girl Kelly came from LA to see me off! She is so mean...I love it!

We stayed up WAY too late.

and WOW am I red! hahaha

I told myself this morning....NO thirsty Thursdays this week, I must must MUST pack.

However, I was convinced otherwise. Celebrated the last thirsty Thursday @ RA :) Niko took me to get some Pinkberry after. Yumm.. nothing better than sushi, sake, and yogurt!
