Post #311- Look Who Turns Two Today!

Happy Birthday Evan!!

My oldest cousin's baby boy turned two today. He celebrated his big day with a dinner party with family and friends. We enjoyed some yummy Japanese food for dinner accompanied with Evan running around saying "I love Mommy!". His newest obsession is Disney's Toy Story. He can sit there and rewatch the DVD he loves it so much!

After a sugar rush from brownies, oreos, and gummy worms, I met up with B and we went to Collin for drinks at Rickhouse. I missed Linda's birthday festivities tonight, but luckily a little while later they came out to meet us. :)

So I drove to work today and wore a dress since I wouldn't be riding on Muni. Stupid stupid decision. The weather man said no rain, but of course of alllllll days, he is wrong. Walked from one building to another in a dress & heels in the rain. Not so fun.

Luckily the rain cleared up by the end of the day and I stayed nice and dry. Went downtown after work in hopes of buying some new clothes....I WANTED to spend some money!!! However, the shopping gods were against me and I didn't find a single thing!!!! ARgh!!!

B and I tried the ramen spot by union square. We've attempted this place before, but didn't want to wait. Today we waited 30 minutes in the cold to have some Ramen, Tobiko, and Ahi Poke. It was very good, but I don't think I would wait that long for it again. Bummed around the rest of the night and B introduced me to a movie called "Clifford". No, not Clifford as in the Big Red Dog, but....another interesting character. Got some good laughs from it and then called it a night. :)

Today was an awesome day at work!

After morning classes, I got back to the office just in time for Dawn's bridal shower. Dawn is the buyer in my department...shes getting married in one week!

I didn't have my camera unfortunately, but managed to take a ghetto phone pic of the adorable banner my manager made. She definitely has crafting talent! We had a Mexican themed bridal shower since she is having a destination wedding in Mexico.

Later in the afternoon the team took a walk to another building we have in the area to do a walk thru of our Spring assortment at our mock store. AWESOME experienced, loved it!!!

I know Halloween just ended, but Christmas stuff already?!? Seriously?!

The weather here has been exceptionally warm this week- its really strange. It's not feeling like Fall at all! I love the holidays though- I can't wait until the air gets crisp and the holiday decorations are up in the malls and homes. :) Call me cheesy, but I love it!

Post #307- Happy Birthday Anna Wintour!

Anna Wintour has always been an icon to me. Not only because of her signature bob and sunglasses combo, but because she is a huge symbol of success to me. Not only has her career exploded over the years, her keen fashion sense and support of large fashion houses as well as smaller projects/designers make her amazing. She took her position as Editor In Chief at Vogue to the next level and continues to succeed. She is respected by every designer out there and her level of taste is just impeccable.

She started her career working in a retail store. She went after her passion and look at her now! Simply amazing.

At 60, she still looks amazing.

Today the planners in my department were all out on PTO or other personal appointments- my manager had mentioned it to me last Friday. This meant that I was able to take more responsibility and actually apply what I had been learning the past few weeks. I got to work really early because I am paranoid and wanted to make sure I had enough time to finish it all up before our 10am business recap meeting.

I got into work around 7:30, but turns out that the systems were down until about 9. Luckily I worked with my manager and we tied things up just in time.

Today was the first day of Daylight savings that I actually noticed the difference. This pic is when I left my building....by the time I got to the Muni station, it was pitch black. By the time I got back home, I was semi-scared to walk down my block to my house. Creepy!

Where does the time go??!

I woke up today and spent most of my day in the kitchen with my Mom. She was cooking up a storm and together we made Carrot Cupcakes again. My last batch turned out a little burnt, but this time we got them just right. Okay, so they aren't the ones from the picture above...those are Martha Stewart's. However, I bet they taste JUST as good as mine! ;)
