Piggy came back from Vegas early today! We grabbed some lunch at Sam Woo and then headed to the Bloomies at Fashion Island in Newport to pick up my cute jean jacket that I had bought during their pre-sale.
On the way back home, we passed the accident site of the TapOut guy...it was full of flowers, candles, and other memorabilia. We also saw dark clouds of smoke coming from the direction of the SNA Airport..hope everything was okay.

Ever have one of those days where you just really need to be alone? This week, especially today, was one of those days for me. I spent most of the day cleaning up and organizing my room and bathroom, painting my nails, and reading. I finished up Sophie Kinsella's "Remember Me?" and then picked up where I left off in "The Time Traveler's Wife". Niko had loaned me this book and although at times its hard to understand, it's a really good read so far. I was a little confused in the beginning, but its beginning to be one of those page turners.

I made some dumplings for dinner. I watched American Idol, the news, and then went to sleep. I must say that Kris Allen is one of my favorites :)

Post #69 - Visit to the Dentist

So since I have insurance for a few more weeks, I decided to go to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. I loved my previous dentist, but since they do not accept HMOs, I had to find a new one to go to. I picked a dentist via my insurance website...young guy, graduated from USC.

BAD CHOICE. My appointment was at 2pm. I didn't get into the chair for xrays until 2:30pm. The dental assistant must have been new because it took her 100000 tries to get the 18  xrays and the machine positioned correctly, all while the xrays are poking at my gums. She had to have another assistant come in to help her. It took her about 40 minutes to do xrays. Next, I move to another room and sit there for another 15 minutes. The dentist comes in...doesn't small chat with me, exams my teeth for about 10 minutes, does the cleaning and leaves. The dental hygienist came in next to polish my teeth. She was actually very nice, but the polish they used tasted like prunes! Yuck! She didn't even floss for me! When she was done, she did not offer me water or anything to rinse. Instead, I rinsed my mouth with some water I had in my car and spit it out in the parking lot. My old dentist chatted with me, thoroughly cleaned my teeth, had strawberry polish and I was STILL in and out of the office in about 45 minutes.

When I left, the receptionist said "See you in 6 months!".....I don't think so. No cavities though! :D

Received some not so good news today. Blah...
Dropped off Pig at the airport later in the evening...he'll be away for a few days. No more blanket hog!

Post #67 -Sunday Chores and Pinkberry!

Grabbed a quick lunch after Pig got his haircut. We stopped by Ikea on the way back home...for no reason in particular, but Ikea is almost as fun as Target! Next we went to get Pinkberry! Yumm!  I love bugging Piggy about yogurt. Pinkberry yogurt especially. Most of the time when i ask to go get some, I don't really want it...I just say it to bug him. He gave in today and took me to get some since we were going to the Target nearby. :) They have a new Pomegranate flavor! Pomegranate and green tea with mochi and mangoes! Picked up some groceries at Costco, headed home and had what I call a "summer dinner". BBQ steak, grilled white corn, orzo, and chicken. The smell of the BBQ grill going made me anxious for summer to get here! After dinner we threw on the Role Models DVD and ended the night with a few laughs :)

So Pig got me on this saving money kick. We both started expense spreadsheets to track how and how much we spend money. This weekend took a big dent on our budgets. Sure we didn't do anything extravagant, but all those little meals and outings sure do add up!

Next weekend...need to find some more FREE fun activities!

Niko and I decided to wander around Brea Mall while the boys had their fun...followed with lunch at Thai Basil. Yumm...

Notice the matching Sig hats?? Hhaha bromance.

After a yummy soondubu dinner that satisfied another of my cravings, we decided to try something new. We headed to a small local wine bar hidden in a nearby plaza. We sampled cabernets, zins, beers, and cognacs over a meat & cheese platter followed by chocolate caramel cheesecake.

I've been in a crappy mood all week. And to start a Friday...have you ever have one of those days where you just wake up in a pissy mood? Today was definitely one of those days. After what we dubbed "Thirsty Thursdays" last night, I was aiming to sleep in today- the only day I didn't have interviews. That didn't happen. Pissy mood catalyst #1- I was awaken bright and early and could not fall back asleep.

Pissy mood catalyst #2 started last night when I got some news that made me sad/disappointed. Just made me feel more down today.

I also took my car to the dealer for an oil change. Turns out there's a recall on a part in my car and they would have to keep my car til Wednesday to do the repairs. Luckily, it's all covered under warranty. Picked up an IS250 loaner car....score +1 for a free tank of gas!

I decided that I was going to do some retail therapy. I know not the best idea being unemployed and all, but I was going to the mall with one mission- to pick up a jacket that I had been eyeing. Went to Bloomingdales at South Coast to meet the rudest sales associate. Pissy mood catalyst #3- After giving me a sarcastic response, he rolled his eyes, sighed, and made it seem like a big deal that he had to check the computer to see if the Newport store had it. I went to the Newport store....sales associate there was super sweet and turns out there's an event going on that would save me $50. That dbag didn't tell me about it.

Anyways, later that night, Pig and I drove JK up to LAX....and to make me feel better, he took me to get some Shabu Shabu. I had been complaining and whining all day to him. And he was tired and hungover. What a good sport :) I don't know why I have my arm like that. It looks like I'm posing for a studio picture! It was an awkward corner and I didn't know what to do with my arm. Hahaha
