Post #287- The Office

My first day in my real office. The past few days were spent in another building as we went through and completed orientation. I finally got to meet my team as well as other co-workers in different departments. I am working in Men's Denim and Bottoms. Lovin it so far. 

Communal dinner again tonight with Bug- his sister makes some awesome larb! Watched Modern Family and Biggest Loser with a very full tummy. :) Great day. 

Post #286- Rain Rain

Talk about a "warm" welcome back to SF.

It was pouring buckets this morning, but my Dad was gracious enough to give me a ride to work- one great perk of living at home. :) This was the first rainstorm of the season and I guess people tend to freak out when it pours. Getting a ride kept me dry and allowed for a 30 minute nap, but the traffic was terrible! 

Another day of training. I met my manager and mentor today- both are super awesome! Looking forward to seeing what tomorrow will have in store. Luckily by the time I got out of the office, the rain had subsided and I luckily got home dry. 

Post #285- First Day of School

Today was my first day at the new job. 

It was a struggle to wake up at 5:45am, as I have been sleeping in most of last week. I boarded good ol' Muni and made the journey downtown. I was told today was all orientation, so I went to Gap's main building. Turns out I was slightly early (15 min is not early if you ask me), and so was another girl. We started talking and took a walk to the nearby Starbucks to get a morning pick-me-up. She was super nice and we immediately hit it off. Too bad she won't be in the same building as me though. 

Orientation was the whole day- we got introduced to the company and it's culture. I think I'm really going to like it here :) 

Post #284- Blue Angels

It has been quite some time since I've been in SF during Fleet Week. The weather was really muggy today and I had doubts that the Blue Angels would even perform. We cleaned up the house and drove to Fort Point to meet up everyone just in time for the show. Maybe it was due to the weather being crappy, but the Blue Angles didn't seem to do any crazy tricks or stunts this time around. 

As we were walking to leave, a Pelican was wandering around the dock and after seeing another guy attempt to pet it, Lorens decided he was going to try too! Hand sanitizer anyone? 

We got stuck in traffic trying to get out of the Marina afterwards, but we took a detour by North Beach to check out the progress of B's apt. Got home just in time for dinner with grandma! 

SOOOO nervous for tomorrow!!

Post #283- Beretta

After MUCH difficulty, the girls were finally able to pick a date and get together for dinner. We decided to try Beretta, as Violet, one of the pickiest eaters, recommended it. We caught up over delish appetizers, pizza, and cocktails. For dessert, we had vanilla gelato with olive oil and sea salt. Sounds odd, but was very tasty! 

After dinner we went over to B's to join the dinner festivities they had going on there. We missed the food they cooked- kobe sliders, lamb sliders, shrimp, and rack of lamb, but were just in time to help Tim celebrate his birthday! Priv all around!

Cute little Pocky stayed up allll night with us. 

Post #282- Back on the Scene

Got my new phone finally today! Now my phone will last more than 10 minutes. :) I spent the rest of the afternoon unpacking and organzing all my stuff- I know my Mom will be much happier that way. 

We went to Steph's surprise birthday dinner at Straits tonight and then continued the night with drinks and dancing at one of my old time favorites, Slide. This time however, was not as great as my previous visits. Don't get me wrong, it was FAB getting to see everyone and catching up with some I haven't seen in forever, but I think being frustrated/irritated the whole night kinda kills the party mode. Oh well, still had a good night. 

Post #281- HellOOOOo gorgeous!

I managed to squeeze in a visit to the dentist today. Score! Is it weird that I LOVE going to the dentist? I love having my pearly whites cleaned and polished. A clean smile is a happy smile :D

After getting my teeth cleaned (no cavities!), I met up with Ali and we went downtown on a mission for new outfits! It was a lot of fun since we both haven't really shopped WITH anyone in a long time- we are SO not good shopping buddies. All we said to each other was, "thats so cute!" "you should get it" "thats sooo you". Horrible! She found an adorable dress for me, but sadly, it wasn't my size and I was forced to leave empty handed. For a good reason though. :) Met up Elisa to get my newest family member! Yay! This was my present to myself for landing a new job. :) 

Dinner at My Tofu House (dumpling & rice cake soonduboo?!?! DELISH) and a quick visit to Elisa's to see her dogs. I love cupcake!!!
