Thanks to RueLaLa, I scored a pretty sweet deal for the W Hotel San Diego. SO, we decided to take a short weekend trip to sunny San Diego.
We decided to visit the San Diego National History Museum in the gorgeous Balboa Park since we wanted to check out the Body Worlds exhibit. The Body Worlds exhibit uses real human bodies that undergo a process called Plastination. This process preserves body parts, or more specific to the exhibit, it preserves the muscles and nerves. At first it sounded a little creepy to me, but the exhibit was interesting. It showed the way our muscles work in certain positions, the way our nerves system collaborated with our muscles, and even how our brain develops. A little creepy to see unborn babies and pregnant women bodies though. Loved the display on healthy lungs vs. smokers lungs, obesity, embryos, and what they titles "the exploded body". Very cool.
We checked into the hotel, which wasn't as impressive as most Ws, but still had the trendy/modern feel to it. Rested (aka napped) and freshened up for dinner at Confidential. Bang had recommend this place and we weren't disappointed. Had an atmosphere that some would call trendy, but some would call douchey....and I loved it! Small asian fusion tapas. Delish! Highly recommended- espically the pear martini. Yum! Check out our new friend...hahaha. We retook this picture, but this one is just way funnier. :)
Later stopped by Bondi for a drink since it wasn't as packed as some of the other places and we managed to nab a pretty good seat outside for some good ol people watching. Decided to walk back to the hotel, but got a little lost...haha...managed to walk around for at least a mile or more in my 4.5 in heels. Pat on the back.
