I dropped Bcd off at the airport this morning and then the remaining Irvine residents (myself, Vinh, and Niko) went to Break of Dawn to try out the "innovative cuisine" we read about. GREAT food- it is a traditional breakfast/brunch/lunch menu with an Asian twist. AMAZING. The food was excellent and the service was great. The above picture was the best of our three- smoked salmon, a potato-type pancake (SO good), poached eggs with pesto

Inside of the menu, there was an ariticle from an OC magainze about the Chef. Turns out he is a very talented chef that trained at the CCA in San Francisco and worked as a sous chef at the Ritz Carlton. He and his wife were planning on having a child, but turns out the baby developed a rare disease while still in the womb. The Chef quit his job and opened this restaurant for breakfast and lunch so they he could have the evenings free to care for and spend time with his family. Touching, isn't it?

Cruised the nearby Laguna Hills mall (boring). Swooped up TWO new pairs of sunglasses for Vinh while Niko and I picked up a few goodies at the Rack.

Bummed around the rest of the afternoon with foresenic TV (Niko's fav). Later that night we embarked on what turned out to be an adventurous night that consisted of... Mesa, Red, Mesa, random drunk chats with my cousin Jason, BCD Tofu House, and being home in bed at 4:30am.

Tonight was a good night for sure. :)
